Cuddles UK
We are a non-profit charitable organisation set up in 1999. We supply hand knitted and crocheted clothing, blankets and keepsakes to hospital maternity units, gynae wards and mortuaries throughout the UK for babies born sleeping. We also provide knitted pockets for Ambulance Trusts to carry on board.
Our talented members make beautiful gowns, sleep suits, sleeping bags, angel pockets and tiny cribs in which the parents can dress and lay their lost baby. We also make blankets for the parents to hold baby in for a while and these can be treasured as a keepsake.
Tiny teddies, usually supplied in pairs, are available so that one will stay with baby and one is for mummy and daddy to keep.
Cuddles can supply garments and cribs for losses up to 24 weeks gestation.
If you are planning to knit or crochet some items for Cuddles all the information, patterns and guidelines are on the website and on our Facebook page where, if you have any questions, you can be assured that one of our members will know the answer and be more than willing to provide helpful advice.
We supply many hospitals in the UK, free of charge, and hope that what we do makes the saddest of times just that bit more bearable for newly bereaved parents.
