Information for Members

Cuddles is a not-for-profit organisation, open to anyone who is interested in helping us by making suitable garments or by fundraising on our behalf.

Membership is free and we have well over 1000 members around the UK and Europe who knit, crochet and sew and donate their makes to Cuddles free of charge, knowing that they are giving comfort to many grieving parents and dignity to their lost baby.

We specialise in supplying beautiful clothing at no cost to hospital maternity and gynae wards and to mortuaries. Our items are for the tiniest, most fragile little souls lost through miscarriage or stillbirth.

The gowns, sleep suits, and capes are for babies to be dressed in for burial as many are lost at such an early stage that the parents do not have any clothes for them. Those too small or delicate to be dressed can be tucked up in the angel pockets, angel wraps and cocoons or laid safely in the cribs. The blankets are for the parents and family to hold their baby for a while and this can go with baby or retained as a keepsake. The tiny teddies can be made individually or in pairs, one for baby and one for the parents.

Once we receive a request for items, each packet is labelled with our Cuddles card, carefully packed and sent out. In most cases the hospitals do let us know when the parcels arrive and give us feedback, which you will all get to know about in our newsletters.
